NZTE’s aim was to showcase New Zealand timber and design ability with a functioning piece of furniture. We were called in to discuss options on how to get a graphic pattern onto the table that reflected New Zealand, and then make it happen. Carving the table wasn’t practical as it was a work surface. We laser engraved the pattern into the rewarewa in sections, assembled and finished it.
