Installation and build of the immersive exhibition in the entrance to the Emirates Team New Zealand hospitality centre the ‘Waka’.
Fibreglass sails, timber framing, birch plywood, direct printing, aluminium, fabric, stain
Home base for the Emirates Team New Zealand was Pier 32, in San Francisco. In the shape of a 75 metre long waka the hospitality centre was a dramatic sight on the San Francisco waterfront.
Anderson Design were tasked with pre constructing an immersive themed exhibition into a 502m space. The exhibition had, to a certain extent, be versatile and flexible in it’s design as the exact spacial dimensions were not known. We designed and fabricated the large sails that framed the entrace and entry ramp. The sails were designed to symbolise the incredible sailing heritage New Zealand posesses and provide a dramatic entrance to the venue. Anderson Design built, packed and freighted the exhibition components from New Zealand to San Francisco. We then supplied a crew to install the exhibit within a limited time and then returned a crew to pack it all up.
